The ingredients needed to make Italian pasta casserole:
  1. Get 1 teaspoon Cumin
  2. Get 1 teaspoon Thyme
  3. Get 1 teaspoon Salt
  4. Get 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  5. Take 1/2 chopped orange bell pepper
  6. Take 1/4 chopped white onion
  7. Make ready 1 lb ground Italian or Sage sausage
  8. Get 1 (28 oz) can stewed tomatoes
  9. Take 1 cup shredded Jack cheese
  10. Prepare 1 lb Fusilli pasta noodles
  11. Prepare 1 (24 oz) can red pasta sauce

Melt cream cheese into the pasta. Stir pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes into the pasta mixture. Top with the shredded pizza cheese and the Asiago. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

Instructions to make Italian pasta casserole:
  1. Start noodles on medium-high and bring to a boil until 3/4 cooked but slightly al dente
  2. Add olive oil to pan and cook onions until translucent.
  3. Add in sausage and brown, slowly mixing in the chopped bell peppers
  4. Season meat and veggies with salt, cumin and thyme
  5. Add in stewed tomatoes and blend well
  6. Incorporate cooked noodles into meat mixture
  7. In halves, pour pasta sauce in with noodles and meat
  8. Fill 9"by 13" glass baking dish with pasta in two additions. After first layer, add half cup of cheese. Then add the rest of the pasta and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  9. Cover and bake on 350 for 30 minutes

Top with the shredded pizza cheese and the Asiago. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. I love to make this pasta bake whenever I need to bring a dish to pass.
