The ingredients needed to make Popcorn Shrimp:
  1. Get 1 cup flour
  2. Get 1 egg
  3. Take 1/2 cup milk
  4. Make ready 1 1/4 tsp salt
  5. Take 1/2 tsp dried basil
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  7. Make ready 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  8. Take 1/4 tsp onion powder
  9. Take 1 cup bread crumbs or crushed flavored croutons
  10. Prepare 24 uncooked medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
  11. Make ready 1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Instructions to make Popcorn Shrimp:
  1. Heat oil in deep fryer or medium saucepan to 350°F
  2. Place flour in one bowl
  3. Whisk egg and milk in another bowl
  4. Mix remaining dry ingredients in a 3rd bowl
  5. Coat shrimp in flour shaking off any excess, then dip in milk/egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumbs
  6. Cook in oil about 3-4 minutes or until a nice golden brown
  7. Dry on a paper towel. I used ranch croutons for the breadcrumbs.

Mix together flour and seasonings to create the coating for the shrimp. Dredge the floured shrimp in the egg mixture, then coat with the fresh seasoned flour mixture. Fry shrimp for a few minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
