  1. Make ready 1 package of flour tortillas
  2. Take 1 lb ground beef
  3. Take 1 cup diced white onion
  4. Get 2 cup shredded cheddar or colby jack cheese, divided
  5. Make ready 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  6. Make ready 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  7. Make ready 1 package of sour cream
  8. Make ready 1 package of taco seasoning
  9. Get 1 garlic salt to taste
  10. Get Sauce
  11. Make ready 1 tbsp olive oil
  12. Get 1 1/2 tablespoons of chili powder
  13. Get 1 tbsp flour
  14. Make ready 1 Can of tomato sauce
  15. Prepare 1 cup Beef broth
  16. Take 2 teaspoons of cumin or to taste ( I like lots)
  17. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  18. Take 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
  19. Get 1 seasoned salt to taste

Fill each tortilla with beef mixture and roll tortilla around filling. Arrange burritos in the prepared baking dish; top with sour cream mixture. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, until the beef browned. While beef is browning, mix together in a small bowl, the chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt pepper and cornstarch.

Instructions to make Smothered Beef Burritos:
  1. Brown hamburger in saucepan adding the diced white onion then the taco seasoning and any additional salt. Taste as you go, add salt last.
  2. Set hamburger aside, cover and keep in warm over (not over 250°)
  3. Using the same hamburger pan heat olive oil on low-med heat. Add chili powder and flour wishing constantly for 1 minute.
  4. Add beef broth and tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
  5. Add seasonings and simmer for 10 -15 minutes, sauce will reduce and thicken.
  6. Turn burner on high and fire roast the flour tortillas for a few seconds or till speckled (not too burnt) TIP: for electric stoves move the tortilla around on the burner quickly to heat it evenly and speckle it.
  7. Place hamburger and some cheese in tortilla, fold in ends and roll nice and snug.
  8. Smother with the sauce, sprinkle with remaining shredded cheese, top with cilantro, green onions, even shredded lettuce if you want then sour cream.
  9. ENJOY!
