The ingredients needed to make Alkaline Tomato Basil Pasta:
  1. Get 1/4 Cup Walnuts
  2. Make ready 1/4 Cup Bella Mushrooms
  3. Take 6 Roma Tomatoes, cut in halves
  4. Make ready 1-2 Cups Spelt Pasta
  5. Make ready 1/2 Cup Green Bell Pepper, diced
  6. Take 1/2 Cup Green Onions, chopped
  7. Get 1 Large Shallot Clove, chopped
  8. Get 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt (as desired)
  9. Make ready 1/2 Tablespoon Oregano (as desired)
  10. Get 1/2 Tablespoon Basil (as desired)
  11. Take 2 Bay Leaves
  12. Take 1/2 Tablespoon Onion Powder (as desired)
  13. Make ready 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Powder (as desired)
  14. Prepare 2 Tablespoons Grapeseed Oil

Start by getting the GF-pasta boiling, once it is ready, remove from the heat and drain to ensure it doesn't go sticky or soggy. Drizzle it with olive oil if it looks like it might stick together and form one giant pasta shape. While this is bubbling away, finely dice the red onion and chop the tomato into chunks. Stir tomatoes, onion, olive oil, garlic, and basil together in a bowl.

Instructions to make Alkaline Tomato Basil Pasta:
  1. Boil walnuts (removes the bitterness from the walnuts).
  2. Ground walnuts in food processor.
  3. Rinse Mushrooms and pay dry.
  4. Ground mushrooms in food processor.
  5. Coat sauce pan with Grapeseed Oil.
  6. Add seasonings to heated oil: oregano, basil, bay leaves and onion power.
  7. Add shallots, green onions and green bell pepper to sauce pan.
  8. Add roma tomatoes to sauce pan, sea salt and cayenne pepper(Roast for 5-10 minutes on stove, uncovered).
  9. Cover sauce pan for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Add ground walnuts and ground mushroom.
  11. Simmer spaghetti sauce.
  12. Boil spelt pasta in vegetable broth. Drain and rinse pasta. Add pasta to spaghetti sauce

While this is bubbling away, finely dice the red onion and chop the tomato into chunks. Stir tomatoes, onion, olive oil, garlic, and basil together in a bowl. Last but not least, add the basil and taste with pepper and salt. Put pasta on plate, top with sauce and garnish if desired. And finally - enjoy your delicious pasta!
