  1. Get 1 cup wheat rava
  2. Take 1 tsp + 1 tsp ghee
  3. Make ready 1 onion
  4. Prepare 1 tomato
  5. Make ready 3 green chillies
  6. Make ready 1 inch ginger
  7. Take 1 small carrot
  8. Get 1 small potato
  9. Take 2 tbsp french beans
  10. Make ready 4-5 mint leaves
  11. Take 1/4 cup coriander leaves
  12. Make ready 5-6 curry leaves
  13. Prepare 2 tbsp fresh coconut
  14. Make ready 1 tbsp oil
  15. Take 1 tsp mustard seeds
  16. Take 1 tsp chanadal
  17. Prepare 1 tsp urad dal
  18. Take 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  19. Take 1 pinch hing
  20. Take 1 tsp garam masala
  21. Prepare 1 tsp sugar
  22. Make ready to taste Salt
  23. Prepare 1/2 lemon

Busy days calls for a easy meal so these days started making it in pressure cooker and this is super quick. And the Upma which is made with semolina is called rava upma, sooji upma or suji ka upma.

Instructions to make Masala Upma with wheat rava:
  1. Finely chop all the vegetables and keep ready
  2. Now take rava in a pan add 1tsp ghee and roast on medium flame till it changes colour and becomes aromatic.. Keep aside
  3. In the same pan add oil, mustard seeds, chanadal, urad dal and saute till golden brown and the mustard seeds splutter, add turmeric and asafoetida. Now add green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and saute..
  4. Add onion and fry till translucent, then add all the vegetables and cook till soft..
  5. Now add 3 cups water, salt, sugar, garam masala, mint leaves, coriander leaves and fresh coconut..
  6. Once the water starts to boil add the roasted rava mix well and cover and cook for 5-10 mins till the water is all gone.. Finally add 1tsp ghee and lemon juice and mix well.. Put off the flame and cover and keep for 5mins before serving..
  7. Serve hot with coconut chutney
