The ingredients needed to make Masala Rava idli:
  1. Take For Rava idli
  2. Take 1 Cup Rava (Sooji)
  3. Get 2 cup Curd
  4. Make ready as needed Water
  5. Take 1 teaspoon Eno
  6. Prepare to taste Salt
  7. Take as needed Oil
  8. Make ready For Dry masala
  9. Get 10-12 Dry red chilli
  10. Get 1 tbsp Chana Dal
  11. Get 1 tbsp Urad dal
  12. Get 1 tbsp White Seaseme seeds (Til)
  13. Prepare 1/2 tbsp Musterd seeds
  14. Prepare 10-15 Curry leaves
  15. Take For Tadka
  16. Make ready 2 tsp Oil
  17. Prepare 2 medium size onion (Chopped)
  18. Prepare 2 Tomato (Chopped)
  19. Take to taste Salt
  20. Get 2-3 tbsp water

Rava idli are steamed cakes made with semolina, yogurt, spices, veggies & a leavening agent. These are eaten for breakfast with coconut chutney & potato sagu (recipe at the end of the post). Traditionally idlis are made with soaked ground lentils & rice. The batter is then fermented and steamed in the shape of cakes.

Instructions to make Masala Rava idli:
  1. Take a bowl add Rava curd and water and mix it well. Rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Now add salt add Eno and mix well.grease the mold with oil.add idli Batter and steam for 7 to 8 minutes
  3. Check the idli with toothpicke.it should came out be clean.cool the idli and then Demold the idli.
  4. For Dry masala. 10 to 15 Dry red chilli, Curry leaves, Sesame seeds(Till),ChanaDal,Urad Dal, Musterd seeds, 1 teaspoon oil dry roast. Nicely aroma come out.turn off the flame.let it cool and Grind the masala.
  5. For Tadka Take a Pan add oil and chopped onion,when onion are light brown.and add Chopped tomato add salt mix it well. tomato turn soft and mushy. Now add Dry masala. And mix it well. 2 to 3 tbsp of water. And mix well.Now add idli.and Cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Turn off the flame.
  6. Ready to serve. Enjoy your masala Rava idli.
