  1. Prepare 1 1/2 cup semolina (rava/sooji)
  2. Make ready 1 cup sour curd
  3. Get 1 tsp fruit eno
  4. Get as needed water
  5. Take to taste salt
  6. Prepare 1 tsp cooking oil

If using thick yogurt, add more water and is using watery yogurt, use less water. Add Eno fruit salt only when you are ready to make the idlis otherwise the idlis will end up flat. Steps to make Soft Rava Idli with sambar and coconut chutney:
  1. Take rava and curd in a mixture bowl. Mix it well with the help of whisker.
  2. Cover the bowl with lid and rest the batter for at least 15-20 mins.
  3. If the batter has thick consistancy then add some water into it and add salt. Mix it well.
  4. Add eno into the batter. Give a gentle mix.
  5. Pour the batter immediately onto greased idli plate.
  6. Steam them on medium flame for 15 minutes or till the idli are cooked completely.
  7. Finally, serve soft sooji idli or plain rava idli along with chutney and sambar.
