The ingredients needed to make Towards the End of the Month Menu (Part One)

Tofu in Soy Sauce:

  1. Get 10 oz tofu
  2. Make ready Oil
  3. Make ready For sauce:
  4. Prepare 1 TBS soy sauce
  5. Make ready 1/2 TBS hoisin sauce
  6. Make ready 1/2 TBS honey
  7. Prepare 1 small clove of garlic, minced
  8. Make ready Some chopped green onion
  9. Get Some roasted sesame seeds

Add the oil and after the oil is hot, carefully add the tofu into a single layer (hot oil may splatter). Remove from heat and squeeze in. Stir, bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Stir in soy, then taste and adjust seasoning with soy, salt and/or cayenne as necessary.

Steps to make Towards the End of the Month Menu (Part One)

Tofu in Soy Sauce:

  1. Cut tofu into 1/2 inch thick. Dab tofu with paper towel well to get water out of it. Pan fry in some oil. About 3 minutes on each side. If tofu is fried too long, it will taste chewy.
  2. Remove to plate. In a bowl, put all ingredients for sauce except roasted sesame seeds. Mix well. Drizzle sauce on tofu. Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds on top.
  3. Enjoy with rice or just by itself. I add minced red bell pepper just for photo effect. šŸ˜Š

Stir, bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Stir in soy, then taste and adjust seasoning with soy, salt and/or cayenne as necessary. Turn the heat off and transfer the cooked tofu to a serving plate. Sprinkle some roasted black sesame seeds over top before serving. Serve with rice as a side dish, or in a Korean lunchbox.
