  1. Get 500 grm chicken, cut up (Boneless)
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup whole fat yogurt
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup buttermilk
  4. Take 2 onions, roughly chopped
  5. Prepare 1 head garlic
  6. Prepare 1 inch piece of ginger
  7. Prepare 2 dried red chilis
  8. Prepare 8 whole peppercorns
  9. Take 2-3 bay leaves
  10. Prepare 8 green cardamom pods
  11. Take 6 cloves
  12. Prepare 2 one-inch cinnamon sticks
  13. Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. Prepare to taste salt
  15. Take 1 tbsp crushed kasoori methi
  16. Get 1 tsp garam masala
  17. Prepare 2 tbsp oil
  18. Get 2 tbsp Fresh cream (optional)
  19. Get 2 tbsp coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps to make Dahi Chicken Curry:
  1. Combine the onions, garlic, and ginger in a food processor. - Grind together to make a paste. - In a bowl, mix together the yogurt and buttermilk. - Set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat the oil on medium.Add the red chilis, cardamom, cloves, bay leaves, peppercorns, and cinnamon. Stir.Once the whole spices start to papaya, add the onion paste.
  3. It will splutter, be careful Stir. Add a bit of water if it starts to stick to the pan.
  4. Stir every now and then for 5 minutes.Add the red chilli powder and kasoori methi.Continue to stir for another 10 minutes, or until the raw smell goes away from the onions.
  5. Add the chicken. Stir.Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.Add the buttermilk mixture a few spoons at a time, stirring throughout.
  6. Continue doing this until you've added all of the mixture.Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. - Add the garam masala along with salt to taste. Stir. Last add fresh cream and stir
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
