The ingredients needed to make Poached Egg curry:
  1. Prepare 4 eggs
  2. Get 5 spoons Sesame oil
  3. Take 2 large onions chopped
  4. Make ready 3 tomatoes chopped
  5. Get 2 green chillies
  6. Take 10 grams Tamarind pulp
  7. Get 1 spoon Mustard
  8. Take 1/2 spoon Jeera
  9. Make ready 1 sprig curry leaves
  10. Take 10 pods garlic finely chopped
  11. Prepare 2 spoons Kulambu chilli powder
  12. Prepare 1 pinch Turmeric powder
  13. Make ready 1 spoon Rock salt

Steps to make Poached Egg curry:
  1. Add oil in a pan and temper mustard and jeera
  2. Once it splutters, add green chillies slit length wise, garlic and curry leaves and stir for 30 seconds
  3. Add chopped onions and fry till golden brown
  4. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and rock salt and cook the tomatoes till they turn mushy
  5. Add kulambu chilli powder and tamarind paste and cook till raw smell of masala goes off
  6. Add 1 cup water and let it boil for 5 minutes
  7. Then simmer the gas stove and drop open eggs on the curry and cover the pan for 5 minutes on medium low heat. After 5 minutes turn the eggs to other side and put lid for another 5 minutes. Open the lid and put on high flame for another 5 minutes and your curry is ready.
  8. Serve hot with idli, dosa, roti, idiyappam, aapam, steamed rice, chapatis, etc
