  2. Take 1 pound Cavatappi pasta, corkscrew type
  3. Make ready As needed water
  4. Prepare 2 teaspoon salt
  5. Prepare 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  6. Prepare Sauce
  7. Make ready 2 pounds finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese 4 cups
  8. Prepare 1 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
  9. Make ready 1/2 stick butter
  10. Prepare 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Steps to make Birthday Mac and Cheese:
  1. Boil the pasta in the water as instructed on package. Retain 1/2 cup of pasta water set aside and drain the rest.
  2. In a pot gather the cream, garlic, and butter. I boiled the pasta for 10 minutes. After it boiled 7 minutes I started heating the cream. When the butter melts completely immediately add the cheese and sir in, till almost totally melted.
  3. Add the pasta to the sauce with the pasta water in the pasta. Stir well it will most likely be very wet. No worries it is supposed to be. Cover and allow to rest 12 minutes to 20 minutes before serving. Give it a stir and serve. I hope you enjoy!!!
