  1. Make ready 3 cups corn meal
  2. Make ready Water

The term tuwon masara is formed from two Hausa words; tuwo (cooked cornmeal) and masara (maize). The n added to tuwo is a preposition "of". Tuwon masara (cornmeal) and egusi soup 😋. Add lemon, stir or give the pot a little shake and turn off the heat.

Instructions to make Corn meal swallow (tuwon masara):
  1. Put water in a pot & allow it to boil
  2. Divide your corn meal into two, pour one part into a bowl, add water & mix until its smooth.Avoid lumps & make sure its not too watery
  3. Pour it into the boiling water & use your turning stick to mix.Allow it to cook for some minutes
  4. Pour the second part of the corn meal gradually into the paste & stir, keep turning with a turning stick until its thick.It should not be too thick. Cover the pot & allow it to steam for 3 minutes
  5. Mould it inside leather. Corn meal swallow is ready.Serve with any soup of your choice
