The ingredients needed to make Jowar (Sorghum) Idli Dosa Combo:
  1. Prepare 1 cup jowar (sorghum), soaked overnight
  2. Get 1/2 cup urad dal (black gram lentil), soaked overnight
  3. Get to taste salt
  4. Make ready oil as required
  5. Take coconut chutney and sambar to serve

It is also rich source of Vitamins. It is suggested for people suffering from stomach ulcer. Jowar is called as Cholam in tamil and Jonna in Telugu. Jowar/Sorghum/Cholam is a millet commonly consumed in the form of whole grain or flour, in various regions of India.

Steps to make Jowar (Sorghum) Idli Dosa Combo:
  1. Grind the soaked jowar and the dal separately with required quantity of water till smooth. Mix together and add salt to taste. Give it a stir and cover. Leave aside to ferment overnight. Adjust water to make the batter of pouring consistency.
  2. Idli - Pour spoonfuls into greased idli moulds and steam for 15 minutes. When cool, demould them and transfer to a serving plate.
  3. Dosa - Heat a non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of the batter and spread it into a circle with the back of the ladle.
  4. Drizzle some oil around the edges and fry till the both sides are done. Make similar dosas in the same way and serve these yummy idli-dosa combo with coconut chutney and sambar.

Jowar is called as Cholam in tamil and Jonna in Telugu. Jowar/Sorghum/Cholam is a millet commonly consumed in the form of whole grain or flour, in various regions of India. The Jowar Dosa is made using Urad Gota( skinned black gram/ Minapa gundlu) and Jowar flour( Jonna pindi). You can make it with whole millet (Jonnalu) too but I couldn't find em in. Jowar also known as sorghum in english are gluten free whole grain.
